Hello!

Welcome to Homewood Bakery. We're a new, fully licensed home bakery delivering fresh baked goods in the north Oakland hills. I'm Eleanor, and I've been a professional baker and pastry chef in the bay area for the last ten years.

Our goal is to provide a rotating variety of the freshest breads and pastries, highlighting both traditional favorites, and lesser known specialties. All of our products are made using the finest, locally sourced ingredients, and organic flours. We practice strict social distancing, and consider our community's health and safety paramount.

Our business model is a little different, and as we are focused on providing the highest quality product possible, we only take a limited number or orders each week.

How It Works

Each week we send out an offering, typically one bread and one or more type of pastry. If you are interested in delivery, please subscribe to our mailing list below! We accept Venmo and Paypal, unfortunately we are not accepting cash or checks at this time. Due to our limited capacity, we only take a set number of orders each week, depending on the offering. If you are interested in a delivery, please keep a lookout for our weekly email and place your order promptly!

About

I have had a passion for pastry my entire life, and started my first baking job at 16. After graduating from the San Francsico Baking Institute in 2011, I began my career at Tartine Bakery in the Mission. I left Tartine to start my own farmers market bakery Hapax Bread, and sold sourdough breads and pastries at markets around the city for three years. Since then I have worked as a pastry chef in the East Bay.

With the challenging current conditions, I wanted to continue to safely provide my community with delicious baked goods, and that lead to creating Homewood Bakery! I am fully certified with Alameda County as a home bakery. I specialize in sourdough breads, and enriched doughs such as brioche and challah.

I look forward to providing you and yours with excellent staples, and exciting treats!
